We are currently spending some time in the Salt Lake City area, as we do every summer around mid July. We LOVE coming out here to spend time with our large extended family and friends. Utah does July 4th GREAT. It is a multi-day celebration and we look forward to it every single year. The family and friends and celebrations almost make up for the brutal heat we seem to experience each summer. Seriously, it is kind of the worst and we forget how hot it gets EVERY yeard.
Last week I had the opportunity to work with and enjoy the Hall of Breakfast, a new pop-up interactive experience in Salt Lake City, highlighting the most important meal of the day: BREAKFAST. I took my two girls and we had a fantastic morning with HOB. A little information about Hall of Breakfast from their website:
“Our tribute to that morning moment when anything feels possible, Hall of Breakfast is an interactive pop-up art experience celebrating everything about breakfast, from the trivial to the transcendent. Bask in the light of an egg yolk sunrise. Slide down a bacon slide. Swing on a donut swing. Snap a pic with a pineapple flamingo as you lounge in a giant neon fruit bowl.
Founded, curated, and created by a group of artists who share the same belief- breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we’ve never been more serious about breakfast”.
The exhibit is full of art, food samples from local eateries (like mini pancakes and small scoops of ice cream) and a plethora of photo opportunities for participants to experience breakfast in art form. There is even a gift shop (I purchased a pin that I plan to put on one of my travel backpacks – it is super cute).
Wow, we had such a fun time! Our favorite spaces were the confetti room and the pink flamingo ball pit. I have never thrown so much confetti in my life and I loved every moment of it. The ball pit was super relaxing! I honestly felt like a little kid just living my best life playing around in the pink balls.
This museum is a highly photographic installation so photos are encouraged! There was always a staff member present if I wanted to take a photo of me and my two girls, which was really nice. The staff was excited about what they were doing and were having fun right along with participants. It felt like a fun, party atmosphere for the hour that we were in the exhibit.
Hall of Breakfast is open until the end of July (they just extended their run) and tickets sell out quickly. Go NOW while you can! See here for ticket prices and other exhibit information.
*Thank you to Hall of Breakfast for such a fun morning for me and my girls.
