Small Squares – March 2022

Small Squares – March 2022

Not going to lie: March has long been a tricky month for me. It seems that year after year some really hard things have a tendency to happen in March. This year our March had some highs and some lows and once again, it was a little tricky to navigate. The highs? Sadie’s long awaited (by her) 13th birthday where she could finally refer to herself as a teenager, time spent with friends, beautiful weather and lots of outdoor landscaping projects at Casa Toscana. Here are some bits and pieces of March 2022.

Most importantly in March, Sadie turned 13. She has waited impatiently for this milestone and we definitely celebrated. Sophie handled a night of treats while we all watched the Oscars, we ate a truly delicious ice cream cake from Coldstone that was exactly what Sadie had hoped for, presents were opened; it was great.

So many years of good chats around this table in this garden

We enjoyed some family time with the Clawsons and Nielsens during General Conference weekend. I took multiple naps, ate a lot of yummy food, the kids all played together and we all just relaxed. Very needed.

March was the month that I tackled a massive mulching project at Casa Toscana. Here is one area that I made: a path between our neighbors property and ours fully mulched in along with a guest parking spot also mulched in. It. Took. Forever. So much stinking work.

We had ourselves a sizeable burn pile. This one felt pretty hard. There was just so much debris to bring from all areas of our land. We all worked it and then I think we got pizza afterwards. Burn pile life is not my favorite.

When the war broke out in Ukraine, our Auburn courthouse lit up every night in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

I love this photo of these two!

The pup continued to be cute along with the Sophie.

My favorite gallery wall in the house continued to grow.

Seb went on a temple trip with the boys from our congregation.

We received this fine photo from Simon in Nairobi!

I finally got some long awaited new glasses. I am loving the blue frames.

Diego came to visit and he and Sam lived their best lives playing pool while watching basketball. He is headed to UC Davis in the fall!

That’s all that I’m going to put in here for now!
