Small Squares: March 2018

Small Squares: March 2018

I don’t know about you, but every single one of the 31 days of March was filled to capacity around here. Somehow the month was jam packed but also went very quickly. We had 80 degree weather and big rainstorms and then very cold weather again, all packed into those aforementioned 31 days. It was a FULL month. Highlights were celebrating Sadie’s 9th birthday, our family trip to San Clemente, some great track races for Simon and a district band concert for Sophie. Without further ado, here is Small Squares for the month of March:

^^^I had A LOT of problems with my Lupus and RA in the month of March. Specifically, swelling in my right knee which meant a lot of elevating multiple times a day. I took this photo while elevating one afternoon 🙂
^^^Sophie had a great choral concert in March. Note the dots on her hand while running the mile earlier in the day at school. We surprised her with 2 dozen roses after her show :).

^^^Raindrops on succulents may be one of my most favorite sights.
^^^Simon had an amazing meet at the Dublin Distance Fiesta where he finished first in his heat for the Mile with a time of 4:47. He also had a great finish in the Two Mile with a time of 10:38; both of these times were PR’s for him. He rocked it, and as a freshman no less!
^^^I fell HARD for this dress at Zara. Get it while it’s still in stores and online. It is a classic.
^^^Trip to Long Beach for a checkup and updosing with the Food Allergy clinic at Miller Childrens. I need to do an entire post on our experience with Miller Childrens. Miracles have been happening in Simon’s life as a result of brilliant and hard working doctors and nurses in the Food Allergy clinic. I will never be able to fully vocalize my appreciation for what this place has done for Simon and our family :).
^^^Front yard blooms. Break out the allergy meds.
^^^I had the pleasure of working with Half United in March. Check them out; they are doing amazing work on behalf of children worldwide.
^^^These embroidered, patchworked and distressed jeans are from Anthropologie. I saw them a month before and wanted them BADLY. In March I finally relented and I am pleased to report they are worth every last penny.
^^^We live in a ridiculously beautiful valley. This picture is just an iphone photo without filters, shot on the side of the road.
^^^I mean, come ON. I am never moving 🙂
^^^Sophie planned every detail of Sadie’s 9th birthday celebration, which was Mexican themed (hence the sombrero). Highlights were the Num Noms ice cream truck lip gloss creation kit, ballet shoes and a bunch of new clothes for this growing girl.

^^^Easter egg dying experiment. This was basically shaving cream and food coloring and looked WAY better in the “before” state than the end result (final colors on the eggs were too muted for my liking).
^^^Seb got suited up for trampoline bungee flipping at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco during Spring Break.
^^^He rocked it 🙂
^^^Sophie and her friend Elicia at Fisherman’s Wharf during Spring Break.

^^^The new Opal House collection at Target is one of my favorite collaborations with Target ever. This throw pillow jumped into my cart so fast I never even checked the price tag. Pompoms? Bright colors? Black and white detailing? Please; this needed to come home with me no questions asked.
