It isn’t fall in these parts without a visit to Larry’s Produce in Suisun Valley. This is more than just a close-by neighborhood stop for us; it is an annual tradition! I remember when my oldest two seemed tiny compared to the large rooster out in the field and now that rooster looks small next to ALL of my kids. What is even happening?!?!
I took Sadie and Sebastian to pick out some pumpkins and play in the mazes/haunted house/corn pit/run around with their friends at Larry’s one day after school.
Full disclosure: even though it is technically fall, it was like 82 degrees the afternoon that we went to Larry’s which is completely UNACCEPTABLE. I mean seriously. It is really hard to get into the whole fall/pumpkins/leaves/cider/fireplace/pumpkin spice everything THING when the best you get is 82 degrees. Fall is my favorite season and every single year Northern California just cannot get over itself with summer temperatures. Ugh. Rant over. This week we are finally supposed to have proper fall weather and it is ABOUT TIME. Ok, rant now officially over.
Even unseasonably warm temperatures cannot dull my love of the traditions we enjoy at Larry’s. I know there are lots of great pumpkin patches and farmers markets in the Bay Area but I think Larry’s is the best. Plus, it is so close to our house that I can’t imagine getting our pumpkins anywhere else.
Over the past several years, the Cinderella or Fairytale pumpkins have become my favorite. I prefer the more muted colors as opposed to bright orange. As you can see in this post, I love to decorate my fall front porch with them.
Happy Fall, ya’ll!
