One of the best things about where we live is our close proximity to the best farmers market in the Bay Area, Larry’s Produce. It is literally eight minutes away and is a staple for our family.
I rarely walk out spending more than $20 and usually have two to three bags loaded with produce. It is pretty magical. PLUS it supports our local community, so making purchases here is win-win. Working at Larry’s is also a great summer job if you are a teenager. Both of my older two have their eyes set on working there once they are old enough.
In the fall, Larry’s has the best pumpkin patch around, complete with hay rides and a “scary” haunted house. Cold and rainy December brings a Christmas tree market. Throughout the time they are open, there are fresh eggs, berries and local honey. There is always a taco truck parked on the side that makes out of this world food. Every time I am at Larry’s I run into multiple people I know. Our kids have had countless school field trips to Larry’s over the years. Basically, it is a local institution and I am proud to shop there.
But my all time favorite thing about Larry’s is…drumroll please…
The flower fields. OH the FLOWER FIELDS.
Larry’s plants a ginormous field of you-pick flowers that blow my mind every year. I wait patiently until they are ready and then hit the fields at least once a week for fresh blooms .
Larry’s Produce has been in operation for 80 years, farms over 1200 acres and is open daily from mid June until December from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. They are located at the intersection of Suisun Valley Road and Ledgewood Road in Fairfield, CA. If you are in the Bay Area GO visit today!
