I have LONG been a fan of Design Mom and Gabrielle. I did a Living With Kids piece on her site and it went up yesterday. It was a great reason to take some quality photos of our home but to also really think about and summarize my family. How often do we take the time to write thoughtfully about our families? In this age of short texts and shorter emails it may not be often.

I look at this piece as a time capsule of sorts. My kids will only be 14, 12 and eight once. They will only be spread out over high school, middle school and elementary school this year. The time is fleeting and our years as parents with children living at home is so brief (sometimes that is a good thing and sometimes it isn’t; depends on the day!). Doing this interview was such a wonderful exercise for me! Honestly, I got so much more out of it than anyone else will. I’m grateful that I made time for it and that Design Mom has a forum like this to discuss what it is like living with your kids.
