My dad is a baker. Well, not by profession (he is an attorney and now a full time business law professor at the College of William and Mary) but certainly by hobby. We have all been blessed by the pies and cookies and cakes he has made over the years. To this day, my favorite chocolate cake with chocolate frosting is the one my dad makes.
My parents live far away in Williamsburg, Virginia; I am lucky if I can get to see them once a year. Last week they came to see us for a whole week and it was WONDERFUL. I got a taste of what it would be like if they just lived down the street (they were staying in a hotel down the street) and my kids could see them all the time. Sigh. Wouldn’t that be so nice?
My dad wanted to have a baking afternoon with his granddaughters. Here they are making chocolate cupcakes and frosting from scratch. I don’t even have photos of the finished product because we ate them all immediately. Seriously, it was way more important to eat than to take a photo 🙂
